Age 25 - 165 days and what I have learned.

Printer-friendly version
So on my first attempt I made it 165 days with no release whatsoever. I did not have any form of sex and had a total of 3 wet dreams. I am resetting the badge with no regrets. From NoFap I do feel I have renewed myself. I was able to accomplish something that I had needed to do for a long time, and that was to give up an addiction to PMO. I no longer have the desire to look at porn like I once did (I used to browse for an hour or more a day at my worst), I have a renewed sense of self, and I look at women in a whole different light.

I wish I had done this years ago. If I would have had the benefits of not being stuck in the PMO cycle, I may have had a much different life than I do now. Since I stopped during those 165 days (which actually went by very fast) I have had the time and desire to do things that I did not before. For years I had wanted to start playing the guitar but never did, because I had porn instead. Now that I have gotten rid of that addiction, I started playing guitar and found a new inspiration in life that I did not have before. I also find myself more motivated and self confident than when I was under the dark cloud of PMO.

I envy those of you that are starting this years before me (and I'm only 25) because when (not if) you accomplish the first 90 days, you will feel very different than you did before. I hope that you all will reach that 90 day mark and you will continue on towards the horizon. Once you reach your goal, give yourself a pat on the back and realize how strong you have shown you can be.

We all have the strength. We just need to find our own way to our goal. There were times when I thought I couldn't handle it much longer and I would come browse the posts in this community looking for inspiration. This band of fapstronauts helped me numerous times and I know they can help you as well.

It may be a long and difficult journey, but stay strong and you will get there. You are doing something great, and nothing that is really worth doing is easy. Best of luck, and see you on the other side of 90.

EARLIER POST - 45 Days and still going strong

So its 45 days on my first run and so far its going well. I haven't edged and I haven't looked at porn in over the 45 day period. While some people have said that they saw a strong change within the first 20 or so days, I never saw a significant change over a short time.

For me the change was a lot slower but it has been there all the same. I have had a new interest in women and have started to pay more attention to them. For the longest time, I didn't really find any interest in women that I would meet. Sure, there were cute girls, but never one that I found that I really wanted to make the effort to see. Well that has finally changed and it is pretty swell. To finally really be interested in a girl and want to have a significant relationship is pretty nice. I also notice that I am finding the average woman much more attractive and I find myself looking a lot more than I used to.

For those of you that are having any problems or haven't really noticed a big change, just stick with it. It will be worth it in the long run. It is without question better for you as a person. If you don't break the PMO habit, your life could suffer for numerous reasons. If you can control it, more power to you. But if you can't, just cut off the source and fix yourself. Everyone has the power. Find another outlet be it videogames, playing an instrument, watching sports, etc.
