Age 22 - ED: I've had wild ups and downs and I will say that I have never enjoyed life more

Printer-friendly version

I'm not one to normally post stuff like this, but I know how much reading other peoples post helped me so I thought I would contribute. To start, I began PMO around 14 (22 now). Around 19 I realized I may have had something wrong, but didn't realize it was PIED until I was 20. After several stints of nofap, I officially decided to join reddit and NoFap to make this a lasting change in my life. During the last 90 days I MO'd twice in the 60's, and had sex once (successfully I might add!) within the last 2 weeks. I assume you're all wondering what changes I made, how I've changed, and what my outlook going forward is.

I workout 2-3 days a week, I did ice cold showers for the first month and a half and, I take ginseng every day. Whenever I had urges I would come to this site and read success stories, mainly because nothing turns me off less than reading about people's PMO habits haha...

Whats changed? Reflecting upon these last 3 months, it is surreal to me to look at where I was in August to where I am now; I have felt the full range of human emotions and I have never felt so alive. I got serious with a girl, fell in love, and had my heart broken. I've had wild ups and downs and I will say that I have never enjoyed life more... even during the tumultuous times because that's what life is; experiencing the good and the bad, and making yourself better because of it. And when I was down I didn't go back to PMO because I knew deep down that it wasn't a solution to anything. I want to say this though, I dont think NoFap brings you super powers. I think it brings mental clarity and that to me has been the biggest change (including resurging libido) in myself.

Looking forward now. Well, I'm single and not sure what I'm looking for right now but I am confident and enjoying life. I will say this, I believe that we are all hurdling along a path in life towards our own, individual purposes. But to get there, you're going to have to get out of your own way, and that means cutting out PMO and what ever else you do that you know is having a negative impact on your life. We are all living the human experience which is an amazing thing, but our time here is so brief so dont spend what you have staring at a computer screen doing things that make you ashamed of yourself and, disconnected from what is out there waiting for you.

I want to thank all of you strangers for being there, it has truly made a difference knowing I'm not alone in this. Going forward I will continue to abstain from PMO, because 90 days is great but its also arbitrary. Everyone faces adversity, and this ours, so don't think the fight against it will ever truly be over. I hope this post inspires at least one person to push on for one more day, and keep up the fight! Because that's all NoFap is, one day at a time...
