Age 21 - No longer have ED - I feel like a man again: Lot more confident, Don't stutter as much, Live in the moment, Appreciate the little things in life
Just wanted to share a little bit about my experience with NoFap after recently hitting the 90 day mark. I first discovered this subreddit a few years ago and have had a couple "streaks" of a week, two weeks, a month, hell I even make it 5 or 6 weeks at one point. But the problem was always the same: I was never committed.
One day I was browsing this sub and someone posted about their own personal success. He talked about how streaks are meant to be broken. He said the only way to fully give up fapping is to make a commitment to never jack off again. So that's what I did.
If you think "Man, I can never masturbate for the rest of my life" when you're about to rub one out, you will likely fail. Take it one day at a time. When you feel an urge coming, don't get angry or frustrated. We'rr all human, it happens. Just take a few deep breaths, accept it, and move on to something else.
My last bit of advice is to completely cut out PMO. This is a big part of why I have failed in the past. My thought process would be "Well since I can't jack off now, what is the worst thing a little porn can do?" Then I would watch porn. It wouldn't be immediate, but at some point I would rationalize masturbationg again. "Is it really that bad? I think I have it under control this time." These are the lies porn would help me tell myself to justify relapsing. It's been a lot easier after cutting PMO out.
So what does 90 days feel like? Pretty fucking cool. I feel like a man again. I am a lot more confident. I don't stutter as much. I live in the moment. I appreciate the little things in life more than I ever did. I've become a lot less apathetic. Oh, and I haven't had erectile dysfunction since I've stopped masturbating, which was a huge problem for me.
I am not going to sit here and say giving up fapping is easy, because it isn't. Hell, I'm writing this because I've been stressed recently and was having some strong urges this morning. NoFap also will not solve all of your problems in life, so don't get frustrated when things don't magically fix themselves. I have some shit I need to fix in my life that NoFap will do nothing for. But NoFap is the first big step to turning your life around.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and best of luck on your journey!
