How a diet change helped me become pornfree

I've been on and off the porn-free bandwagon for the last three years. It's always been a struggle, but I did manage a full 90 days porn-free a couple years back.
Every day though is pretty much a struggle. Until I did something new, unrelated to the pornfree effort. I stumbled on the /r/keto reddit.
The /r/keto reddit is a support group for those trying a nutritional ketogenic diet. This means, very rough guidelines, you eat primarily fats, about 80%, with 15% protein and 5% carbs. With this in mind, it's also a guideline to consume less than 20g carbs. When consuming a very small amount of carbs like this, your liver will generate ketones of which your brain can burn for energy. Ketones are a different kind of fuel than glucose, and literally give you a slightly different experience of reality. Imagine putting a different kind of fuel in your car, it would subtly change the engine characteristics.
I started my zero-sugar diet. Just eating meats, veggies like avocado and eating some nuts. Within a day, I realized I felt OK not looking at porn. Within a few days I realized I had not thought about it for that time. After a week I got a bit scared because my sex-drive went from wanting it every day, to now I haven't masturbated OR looked at porn OR had sex, in seven days. Now I am actually freaking out thinking I broke something in me.
I go to my wife and she re-assures me that I am fine and that this is a great thing, that this is what I've been looking for. Freedom from sexual slavery. So that's helped me relax. We had sex, it was great. So, I am still functioning okay. After we had sex, I was dreading the chaser. It wasn't that bad. In fact, first time ever in my life I didn't masturbate or look at porn after having sex. We had sex again a few days later, and again, chaser was manageable for the second time ever.
It's been 29 days. I haven't masturbated or looked at porn. I have way more energy, I sleep better, my mood is way more stable, and I have more self-awareness. It's been nearly effortless compared to the first time in the last 3 years of continual trying and failing to do porn-free.
Many people in the /r/keto forum say that going into ketosis reduces or removes their general and social anxieties, of which both I suffer from. Both of these have been greatly diminished for me.
I just wanted to share. For those who might want to try something different, try /r/keto. I'm now planning on sticking with this for the rest of my life. I am finally free. Thank god, I am finally free.
