One of the issues of the adolescent at risk is sexual behavior as a result of exposure to pornography. Based on the results of Sexual Behavior Survey in 2011, 39% of the study subjects had had sexual intercourse when aged 15-19 years. The increasing number of adolescents exposed to pornography can lead to deviant behavior, damage to brain cells, and reduced learning concentration. This study aimed to identify the relationship between exposure to pornography and sexual behavior of high school adolescents.
Themen a Methode:
This was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. The study was conducted at Prayatna senior high school, Medan, North Sumatera. A sample of 79 students was selected from the accessible population of 440 students at the high school under study by systematic random sampling. The dependent variable was sexual behavior in adolescent. The independent variable was pornography exposure. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by chi-square test.
Resultater:
About half on the sample were male (55.7%) with average age of 17 years. The risk of sexual behavior in adolescent increased with pornography exposure (OR= 1.24; p= 0.016).
Conclusioun:
The risk of sexual behavior in adolescent increases with pornography exposure.
