21 amžius - rūkas, migla, depresija, savigrauža, nerimas, nuobodus egzistavimas ... visa tai dingo dabar.

Seriously, after having been a porn addict for like 7-8 years off and on… I never truly understood how bad it was for me until experiencing life without it.

I can honestly say, 100% without a doubt in my mind, quitting porn has been THE single most important decision of my entire life. I know that’s crazy to say after only two months… but it’s not crazy if you understand. Since I quit porn, life has fundamentally changed for me. Absolutely all aspects of my life have improved significantly.

Now, I know I can’t attribute this all solely to porn, as I have made a lot of changes in my life too… but without quitting porn, none of it would’ve been possible. Being porn free lays the foundation for everything else in your life to be amazing.

The fog, the haze, the depression, the self-loathing, the anxiety, the dull and mundane existence… it’s all gone now. I’m a new man. I’m a confident person again. I’m driven, I’m focused, I’m disciplined. I’m more loving, I smile more, I laugh more, I don’t feel the need to hide away. I don’t have to be closed off from the world. I’m out in the open. I can face that shit head on and I’m not afraid to talk to people. I love people and women again and man I could go on and on about this shit…

Daily. Habits. Are. Everything. I can’t stress this enough and you’ll notice this is the case for like every single person quitting porn or any addiction. You have to replace your bad habit with something great, multiple things actually. Habits are everything. And you can’t just quit porn you have to quit ANY and ALL addictions in your life that might be holding you back or dulling you down in any way.

The following are three of the biggest changes I have made that I believe have kept me porn free, but there are MANY other things that have changed and that I will continue to change as I keep on the journey to self-improvement:

  • Health/Fitness

I started a workout routine and thanks to pornfree, I’ve been able to stick with it and been able to keep myself disciplined. I go to the gym every other day and on my off days I do abs and cardio. Since starting, I’ve gained almost 8 pounds already of muscle, so that’s pretty cool seeing as I’ve always been a skinny dude!

Although I ate healthy before I quit porn, continuing to eat healthy is still very important as I’ve found that when I eat fast food or junk food it makes me tired and lazy, reduces my self control and I want to sleep or lay down in my room, which sets the perfect mood for PMO.

  • Connections/Socializing

I think this aspect often goes overlooked a little bit, but I believe it may be one of the most important things. I know for me, I used PMO as a replacement for connection. Connection, connection, connection. I can’t stress this enough. I’ve noticed that the days I spend quality time with people in my life or even just have one real conversation with somebody it makes ALL the difference. It’s all about getting that connection from somebody throughout the day, be it a coworker or best friend or just someone that makes you laugh… make a connection, as many as you can… that’s how you avoid the loneliness. That’s what keeps you from needing the porn. This can be really difficult though no doubt… especially when you don’t always have a lot in common with your roommates/family or if you have social anxiety, or if you don’t have a lot of close friends, or if you lack self-confidence, etc. Which I happened to have all of those problems when I was watching porn.

Since I’ve quit, that’s all changed. My social anxiety has dropped significantly. I feel like I am able to talk to anybody now and I don’t have such a hard time getting out of my comfort zone. I am meeting new people and I have strengthened a lot of my relationships. I also find myself reaching out to people more and putting in more effort to improve my friendships. Just do it. Quit porn, give it a few weeks. In those weeks start working out, maybe read some books, spend time outdoors for a while. Define your goals, make to-do lists, work harder at work and school. Just do it. Just give it a few short weeks and I promise your life will be changed.

The great thing about habits is that they all build on each other and make the other ones easier to maintain. For example, working out and getting the body that I have always wanted has improved my self confidence ten-fold, and allowed me to talk to women better, and make new friends! Now that I have more connections and I spend more time socializing, I am less lonely at night and I sleep better and don’t need to PMO before bed.

  • No Alcohol/Weed

You don’t have to be 100% stringent with this one, but I do think it’s important. Especially for that first 30 days. You gotta be clear-headed and focused and go a FULL 30 days without porn AND without fapping. That was hugely important for me to reset. I still drink on the weekends every once in a while, and I’ll have a beer with friends from time to time… but I must say… this is a pretty big one. Drinking and smoking both reduce self control and can easily lead to PMO if you’re not careful.

Anyway, just thought I’d share. Quitting porn is not a temporary thing. It involves an entire lifestyle change if you really want to kick the habit. The great thing is, your whole life will change once you quit and everything will get easier.

I also have to say that I absolutely couldn’t have done any of this without you guys. I can’t thank you enough for everything, my life has forever changed. Keep fighting the good fight!
