Libido-Faʻaleleia o Faʻaopoopoga

NOTE: YBOP does not diagnose or give medical advice. The tips below come from men who are rebooting, and you should check them with your own health-care provider before trying any of them.

Porn addiction can cause a drop in libido - and erectile dysfunction

If you’re open to an approach that works on another level, read about homeopathy in the link below this article. In general, we encourage you to allow the process of returning to balance to unfold naturally. It takes time, but the results are more stable. Please understand that porn-induced sexual dysfunctions are primarily caused by sexual conditioning. Downregulation of dopamine or dopamine receptors may not play as large a role as men on recovery forums assume.

Tips from site visitors:

I’ know the reboot process works However, i can’t stress enough the need to get tested to make sure your body is even capable of an erection..

i recently took a vitamin/mineral test.. I was sick of low libido, no morning wood and killer insomnia.

Well, it turns out My ZINC and MAGNESIUM is in the toilet… I’ve started supplementing – it’s going to take 4 to 5 weeks based on how low i am – and just in 4 days already waking up with good boners.. sleep still sux, but it’s going to take time..

Anyway, my point is.. I’ve wasted about 1 year rebooting, couldn’t figure out why after an O i would go flat and the whole rewire thing didn’t make sense.. Ua 45 oʻu tausaga and my fetish hadn’t changed since I was 10 years old.. so why now all of a sudden it did nothing for me?  I was drained of zinc and not able to absorb it well from the food i was eating cuz of heartburn and indigestion.. Not to mention it was so low I would have to eat 10 steaks a day to build it back up

Anyway.. u should all get checked out just in the interest of time and peace of mind

AVOID L-dopa and anything containing it. It’s not a good idea to supplement L-dopa, unless under the care of a knowledgeable professional. The isolated form of L-Dopa is a prescription drug with lots of listed side effects. Velvet bean also has L-dopa in it.

O le ata tifaga Awakenings was about L-dopa. It worked for a while on Parkinson’s patients, then stopped working. The main character (this wasn’t shown in the movie) started grabbing all the nurses, and I think, was masturbating compulsively.

The side-effects of L-DOPA may include:

  • Hypotension, especially if the dosage is too high
  • Arrhythmias, although these are uncommon
  • Nausea, which is often reduced by taking the drug with food, although protein interferes with drug absorption
  • O le gasegase gasegase
  • Disturbed respiration, which is not always harmful, and can actually benefit patients with upper airway obstruction
  • Lulu o lauulu
  • Le mautonu ma le le mautonu
  • Extreme emotional states, particularly anxiety, but also excessive libido
  • Vivid dreams and/or insomnia
  • Auditory and/or visual hallucinations
  • Effects on learning; there is some evidence that it improves working memory, while impairing other complex functions
  • Somnolence and narcolepsy
  • A condition similar to stimulant psychosis

Good quality fish oil capsules are all I need. They made a big difference.

[In addition to a long, somewhat inconsistent reboot] I took an erection cocktail that really did help.

  • Ginkgo biloba
  • Faʻasalaga
  • Panax ginseng
  • Catuba bark (This one is the fucking shit for PIED, it actually helps with dopamine problems. I strongly recommend trying it. )

It’s worth spending the money to buy these supplements, try everything and have an undefeated mind. Latalata ile tala sili ona leaga ole PIED ua faʻamaloloina. E mafaia e tagata uma.

I ate cashews both days (and also a drink that had big amounts of vitamin B12 and zinc). All of the sudden I felt this odd tingly feeling in my little guy, as if blood was streaming through it at a faster pace. I was slightly amazed. It occurred 2 days in a row. That was the first time in a long while I felt anything like that. [He was also 36 days into his reboot and beginning to notice stronger erections.] I have mainly been consuming big amounts of vitamin B12, vitamin B6, zinc and magnesium these past 3 days (mostly via foods rich in these substances). I used to have pretty restless legs, but they have slowly started to simply stand still. I hope that goes away completely one day. It would be great and make me look more normal in class.

I took zinc, ginkgo, and l-arginine in the past. I started as soon as I freaked out about this problem in early November last year. [It’s now end of May.] I took them for a couple of months and discontinued them in February, about 3 months ago. I don’t think those helped. I have read about people taking enormous doses of l-arginine right before sex, because the product is supposed to be harmless. I have never taken such doses. I just did whatever the recommendation written on the bottle said.

I currently take fish oil, which I hear is healthy for the overall functioning of your body and for your wellbeing.I have never taken viagra or cialis and never want to take these. I wouldn’t recommend these. They mask the problem temporarily and don’t solve it. I think that many, and possibly all, of the supplements advertised as sex enhancers are BS, and I’m sure that they somehow actually have negative effects on the body.

'A'ai maloloina, tausia lelei lou tino, ma aua le popole i mea faaopoopo. O isi e tatau ona mulimuli faanatura. Faitau lana tala e uiga i lona malosi atoa

I recently had some blood work done. It turns out I have vitamin D deficiency. I also have borderline low testosterone, which low vitamin D can cause. So I’m supplementing with 5000IU vit. D to see if that helps.

In my desire to speed up the process of recovery I have done considerable study on and self experimentation with various supplements. My experience is that ALL of the “male enhancement” products such as horney goat weed, tribulus maca, yohimbe etc. are absolutely useless if your mind and body are over stimulated and exhausted. Whether or not they are of any benefit to a normal healthy individual looking for added performance I will leave to others to debate.

My experience with brain enhancers such as citicholine (proported to increase dopamine receptor density) and other such products was the same. Taking the amino precursors to various neurotransmitters such as l-tyrosine or l-phenylalanine to boost dopamine or 5-htp to boost serotonin etc. all netted variations of the same result which was to make me bitchy, aggitated or depressed. They gave me 0 possitive results.

Ou te talitonu nei o le siitia o le eletise i le ua maeʻa ma le paleni mafaufau e pei o le lafoina o fafie i luga o se afi. Mo aʻu, e masani ona mafua ai ia te aʻu le toʻafilemu i le masturbation.

The one GLOWING exception to the supplements are worthless theme are GABA and Arginine. I started taking Arginine (which is the precurser to nitric oxide a vasodialator) 1000mg 3 times daily (morning, noon, and before bed on an empty stomach) and GABA 1000mg 3 times daily and noticed a wonderful difference within days. GABA acts as a inhibitor in the brain and for me at least seemed to bring about balance in my brain. Many believe oral GABA cannot cross the blood brain barrier while others believe it can at dosages of 3000mg or more daily and still others believe it finds a back door to the brain through the pituitary gland. I dont pretend to know how it works but for me it made me calm and centered, I sleep better and I started having spontanious semi erections during my day for the first time since I was a teen.

I have been trying various supplements for years and always take them with an open mind but without expectation. I consider myself as immune to plecebo effect as any human can be. For me GABA and Arginine together is powerful medicine. That being said they are no substitute for a reboot! I do however think that for some of you LONG rebooters out there they are worth a shot, especially if like me you have struggled for years with multiple addictions or you are plagued by negative self talk. Full reboot.

To help with the rewire process I have been taking several supplements. The 3 key supplements are Lithium orotate 30mg daily (helps mood and grows gray matter), DHA concentrate fish oil 1000mg 3 times daily (the brain is 60% DHA so I figure it would be a good building block for new pathways), and L-Glutamine (good for addiction cravings).

I’ve noticed ginseng tends to increase my libido, which may or may not be a good thing while trying to reboot and keep away from PMOF. If you’ve read a lot about it and are curious I’d recommend giving it a try for a couple weeks, then stopping for a week or two. As I’m sure you’ve read, it needs to be cycled.

Previous month I saw a Ayurveda pharmacy store and decided to try Ashwagandha. I bought 4 strips of Ashwagandha capsules ( 40 capsules), and started taking it twice daily, within first week I found my erection got stronger, and my scrotum which always remained loose became hard, testis were also became big, also while bathing I ejaculated and noticed that the ejaculate was thick (like my first ejaculate) and also noticed I still had erection after ejaculation, I also noticed that symptoms of anxiety were no more, I had the capsules only for 20 days, while I was taking this herb I continued masturbation (2 times a week), now it’s been a week and I don’t have any more capsules left and today only I masturbated 5 times in morning, it’s evening now and I can still get a strong erection just by watching a porn pic, moreover I didn’t felt guilty this time, this has never happened with me, really this is a magic herb, everyone who want to recover should try this herb, it’s available in powder and in capsule form.

And there is another mixture in Ayurveda which is more potent it is known as Shilajit. I didn’t tried Shilajit but Ashwagandha really worked for me, and today only I bought 8 more strips of ashwagandha (40 days dose), this time I will not be masturbating for these 40 days, I will post the results after 40 days. Also I’m not advertising any particular brand.

Supplementwise I have found the amazing power of omega 3s. As somewhat of a health nut I knew of them all along, as theyre usually the most reccomended general supplement aside from a multi/vitamin d. I had tried them a bit in the past with no changes to my health. But I had not tried them long enough or in a large enough dose. Last week I started taking a pharmaceutical grade fish oil (400mg EPA/200mg DHA), 2 pills 3x daily. My anxiety has plummeted, I feel much more relaxed, energetic, less brain fog, and wanting to go out and have fun instead of sit inside all night in a daze. Based on my diet and health habits in the past I would not at all be surprised if I had a large cellular imbalance of omega 3/6.

Been taking St. John’s Wort and it’s working for me. Apparently those pills boost your dopamine also.

If anything, I would suggest a tonifying herb like ginseng rather than a specific libido-enhancing drug (libido increase is one effect of ginseng, but not the main one). Your libido will return in time, you need to let it go through its natural process. Ginseng is good to help strengthen and re-vitalize the energies in your pelvic basin to re-tonify where you are depleted. Just a little bit, for a couple weeks at a time, then a week or so off, repeat. Don’t take so much that you really feel an immediate effect, it should be a long-term strategy.

I started taking a daily multi-vitamin and the maximum effective daily dose (240mg) of Ginkgo Biloba supplements. I don’t feel like the multivitamin did much, but I did notice that after a few weeks of taking GB my morning erections felt much more firm and strong. GB supposedly relaxes smaller blood vessels and capillaries, which would allow more blood into the penis during an erection. As an added benefit, I also noticed a significant increase in my cognitive function.

I did a bit of research on Ginkgo Biloba when I started taking it, and I found the that the jury is still out on it. A number of studies have shown GB to have significant effects on the body while others have determined no effect at all, both for ED and other physical or mental problems. I can tell you that I personally found that my thinking what much clearer, but this might have also been from quitting weed and PMO. I also remember when my erections started feeling much stronger after a few weeks of taking it. So I’d say it’s worth a try at least, it isn’t that expensive. They are usually sold in 80mg tablets, and I take three a day because I read somewhere (can’t remember where) that 240mg is the maximum effective daily dose.

mālie discussion about zinc deficiency. Please take care to check blood levels before embarking on a supplement regimen. It maybe safer to experiment with foods rich in zinc instead.

Recently, I came across something that not only has been beneficial to coping with the withdrawal symptoms and uneasiness that rebooting entails, but other aspects of my life. Its basically a herb with a well documented history of successfully treating mild to moderate depression and anxiety. Its called St John’s Wort and I take it buy brewing it as a tea. I purchased a jar of the herb as an oil extract of St. John’s Wort, but I don’t find the capsule version nearly as effective as the tea. From reading many of this sites posts, I find that many people suffer with negative thinking and negative mindsets. Their withdrawal symptoms are characterized by stress, anxiety, depression and in many respects an overall feeling of ‘being down’.

So I decided to share with you guys what a great herb this has been to me. It literally pulled a 180 degree turn with respect to my mood. I went from being anxious and negative to calm and positive. It also increases my ability to cope with urges without killing my libido. In fact, I have been experiencing quite a lively libido since taking this. I know a common symptom of depression or anxiety( there is a strong connection between depression and anxiety ) is reduced libido. It could be that this tea is really promoting a healthy mood and in turn a healthy libido.

So to all those people who have reached those high double digit and triple digit stretches and still not experiencing the benefits of a reboot, give St Johns Wort a try. And not only those individuals but anyone who suffers from a constant bombardment of negative and intrusive thoughts ruining your day, or those where anxiety is a problem. Give it a try.

Na faaopoopo e se isi tagata: If you do take it, definitely take it according to the instructions with a lot of consistency.

Na faaopoopo e se isi tagata: This is definitely a great herb. I had success a couple years ago with Rhodiola which is suppose to increase serotonin in the brain. I think I took 1000mg a day. I might try the St. John’s Wort again because it’s cheaper.

I noticed strong erections while eating big amounts of cashews.

Omega 3: Didnt feel a change. Omega 3-6-9: Tremendous change, better hair, skin, nails, brighter eyes.5-htp: Good when im depressed, makes me tired though.st johns wort: The pills isnt working on me, but I do like the tea. Makes me calm.Maca: I get more energy, better stamina. Easier to concentrate.Multivitamins with whole foods: Good stuff, I usually get tired in the afternoon when I have worked a couple of hours. Not anymore. I tend to eat unhealthy (someone get me a gf) so this is worth its weight in gold. I get those who has anti oxidants.

I started cleaning up my diet and taking vitamins in the past 3-4 weeks. I recommend the wheat grass powder called “Green Vibrance”. Take it in the morning (I mix it with vitamin water) and in a couple weeks you’ll see significant improvements in energy and sex drive. Get it at any vitamine shoppe or gnc. Beware though, if you start taking this supplement, make sure you’re near a toilet for an hour or two after taking it. It takes a week or two for your body to get used the greens. Have also been taking fish oil, B12, a standard multi-vitamin, as well as St. John’s wort religiously in the past month. Energy and mood have improved dramatically. Oh and I’ve also been able to cut out caffeine greatly… The ups and downs have been a lot less since I cut down (but beware of the caffeine withdrawal… damn).

So here is my subjective view on a few supplements I tested during my PMO in order to alleviate my withdrawal symptoms. I took them separately so that I could judge their individual short-term effectiveness. Most of them have already been mentioned on https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/libido-balancing-supplements.

1) Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera): It made me feel more balanced and reduced my anxiety. Dosage: 1 g pure powder per day

2) Mucuna pruriens: This also reduced my anxiety (1 g) and, depending on the dosage, even made me euphoric for a while (5 g – I tested this high dosage because there is a scientific study in which this dosage was used but for a different purpose). However, I would not want to take this supplement long term because it contains L-dopa, a precursor of dopamine.

3) 7-Keto-DHEA: I didn’t notice any effect on my mood or general well-being.

4) SAM-e: I felt like it had a similar effect as ashagwanda. As it is a well-defined biochemical compound as opposed to to the herb ashagwanda, I would prefer this over ashagwanda for longer use

ADRENAL FATIGUE – Exchange between forum members:I’ve had success with this supplement in the past: http://www.amazon.com/Nutri-West-DSF-FORMULA-120/dp/B000NI81UA

It helps replenish your adrenals after lots of stress. I think it’s pretty safe for most people (it’s not prescription), but you should obviously check it out with your doctor and not do anything dumb. You could also maybe think about Vit-D3 supplementation (another thing I’ve felt has really helped me out).

I’ve also had Adrenal Fatigue. I highly recommend THE book which will make you well: Adrenal Fatigue, by James Wilson,

http://www.amazon.com/Adrenal-Fatigue-Century-Stress-Syndrome/dp/1890572…

Buy the book and follow the advice closely. Forget about allopatic doctors, they will not help much. You’ll just lose a lot of money…

Buy the supplements detailed in the book (vitamins, minerals and adrenal extracts) + do the activities described there, and in about 1 year you’ll be much better. Stop the sugar and flour addiction. That book will change your life, it surely did it for me.

I cured my own DE in two days using citicoline, AMA.

by Grizzled_Johnson

I am a medical student studying to be a neurologist. I am very interested in using nootropic supplementation to treat both psychologic and neurologic disease. I believe that, along with /NoFap and /Pornfree, supplementing my brain with Citicoline (aka CDP-choline) cured me after suffering from DE for over 5 years. Like many of you, I started watching porn at a young age, daily PMO… The whole deal. I did some research and postulated that I could potentially hasten the restoration of my dopamine system using CDP-Choline. Here is my reasoning: With any addiction, our brain’s dopamine reward circuitry is hijacked by some aberrant process. Whether its cocaine, heroin, marijuana, masturbation, or ice cream, there’s a series of pleasure seeking behaviors that ultimately yield a huge, supraphysiologic rush of dopamine in the mesolimbic/mesocortical (pleasure seeking) regions of the brain. After years of abusing this dopamine rush, the addiction escalates and DE develops for two main reasons:

1.) Dopamine receptors in the Nucleus Accumbens and Ventral Tegmental Area become downregulated due to a constant barrage of higher concentrations of dopamine in the synapse than usually found in the brain’s of non-addicts.

2.) Lower levels of dopamine are released in response to stimuli (PMO) over time due to the Coolidge Effect.

In order to get the same bang for your buck, you have to push the stakes higher, effectively pulling from an ever shrinking store of dopamine. CDP-Choline or Citicoline acts to counter the two processes mentioned above. Here are two papers explaining how it achieves this:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1908237/http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10102764http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citicoline

By upregulating dopamine receptors and simultaneously increasing synaptic dopamine, you reverse the process that has been occurring due to PMO. What did I notice? Increased sensitivity, desire for PIV, and the ability to psychologically “get over the hump” to orgasm during PIV. You can get Citicoline at any health foods store or amazon. It’s well studied and a very safe, well tolerated substance that has benefits above and beyond those I have already enumerated. If you’re interested in experimenting with it, I encourage you all to write about it on this board. I know it worked for me. I just hope it was more than just placbo effect at work… Regardless, I can’t wait to hear some results!

L-Arginine + Pycnogenol for ED

Just wanted to let you guys know that I finally found some supplements that for work me, even though I had porn-induced ED (pretty much for a few years). I was starting to get really depressed after trying so many different supplements and none of them seemed to work. Maca, horny goat weed, Arginmax, steel libido, l-arginine, l-arginine + citrulline, l-tyrosine, ginko biloba, fish oil, multivitamins, etc. Although yohimbe worked pretty well, the side-effects (anxiety, nausea, cold sweats) were too horrible, especially if you drink any alcohol after taking it. With L-Arginine and Pycnogenol there are no side effects, plus you don’t have to rush to have sex after you take them since they stay in your system. It’s only been three days and I’ve already had the best erections I’ve had in a long long time. The rock hard, shiny-tip kind, which hasn’t happened in ages for me. Also, I’m able to get it up without porn, which I couldn’t do since I can’t remember when, and literally the next night after taking these two supplements together, I was able to.

So in short, if you were like me, tried many supplements that didn’t work out, give this combo a shot!

My next to impossible PIED cured!!!!!

Submitted by Shaz on Thu, 09/27/2018 -M

So I’m arguably the WORST case of pied. I came to college and at 18 I basically lost function of my penis for around 4 years until i managed to cure myself with a very, very targeted two-prong approach.

I figured I needed to rewire and upregulate d2l pre and post synaptic receptors, and D1 receptors since those were the ones responsible for arousal( of-course there’s a billion factors involved but these two receptors , as a student of neuroscience, I understood to be the most critical).

I embarked on a hard reboot process ( coupled with only real life sex) using a personal concoction i made , that over 3 months essentially rebooted me the way a hard reboot would have done over 2 years or so ( by up-regulating and creating dopamine d2l pre and post synaptic receptors and up-regulating D1 receptors). Of course, a hard reboot for that long is something that is extraordinarily difficult and I’ve rebooted for 9 months at a time without much progress.

My personal cure, which has worked for countless friends of mine as well, was a combination of Uridine , sulbutamine, shilajit, and Forskolin.. the bill for these ingredients was enormous , and as someone that’s climbed out of this hellhole, i figured id share my story with the world and make my formula freely available. The cost of ingredients was absurd and ensuring they were the right forms was tedious, so i decided to make it easier for those still cursed with PIED by making my formula pre-bottled and available for an essentially at-cost price. The formula, that i call “ Reboot”, is freely available for anyone to make and try on themselves, though it will be pricey to do so.

I also managed to find an EXTREMELY powerful alternative to cialis and prescription drugs to ensure a functional rewiring for myself. I essentially used sodium ascorbate, garlic extract, citrulline, ornithine, arginine, and grape seed extract. This basically kicks N.O production into overdrive, as the ingredients have been proven to do in countless clinical studies. Super for the gym as well. Again, the cost of these ingredients was absurd and so , while my formula is freely available for anyone to make, I’ve saved people the hassle by creating a pre-bottled powder version at an at-cost price. This particular formula I decided to call ‘ rewire’.
