Past a 100 days. Seems only like yesterday I started the challenge. But looking back, it’s been a long time. I started out as a loser living in my parents’ house, no job, no college, really thin. I look myself in the mirror today and I barely recognize myself. I realized it was high time I shared what helped me to reach my goal with others who might be suffering like me.
Before I started, I ended up fapping several times a day. No motivation to do anything. Just barely living. I had also broken up with my ex only a few weeks before that. Today I have a great job, I still don’t have a girlfriend because I decided I need to focus on other stuff and I decided not to give in to the societal pressure of having a GF all the time. Nofap really helps you not to give a fuck. lol. Anyway, lets get on with it.
- Decide once and for all. Reevaluate your life if you have to-
For me, I took a day off on April 24th, 2016. I plotted my game plan. I jotted down my goals. I planned a whole day for what to do and how to go about it. This step is very necessary to make sure you have the conviction to do it and go through the challenge. Planning is necessary.
- Boredom is your nemesis-
Never. Never. Never stay empty handed. I mean never. Never sit idle. Do something. Stay busy. Join the local kickboxing centre. Take dance lessons. Learn to code in a nearby boot camp. But STAY BUSY. Boredom will kill your streak sooner or later.
- Curiosity kills the cat-
After about a month. I started getting very curious to see what would happen if I fapped. It is difficult to convince yourself not to do it once you’re very curious. So, do not let curiosity get the better of you. My streak before this 100 day streak was solely spoiled because of curiosity.
- Nofap ain’t your Life Goal-
I have noticed others doing this. I have been guilty of doing this too. But I want to tell the people struggling Do Not Hype Nofap! The challenge is difficult. I know. But the more you hype, the more your mind makes it difficult. If you don’t make it a huge part of your life, you can tackle it easier. Take up greater challenges to make Nofap just insignificant and hence, easier to combat.
- Perseverance is key-
One day at a time is your goal. Not 90 days at once. You WILL be tempted. You WILL want to fap badly. Your balls WILL hurt. Just say “Not Today” and move on. It’s a war my friends. You cannot win it without any mental fatigue.
- Start your day with a challenge-
I have seen that a lot of folks here do something similar without even knowing hoe beneficial it is. Cold showers, yes. When you do something really difficult as soon as you wake up, you will try not to fap so that you don’t mess up the entire day. The first challenge of the day will help you to deal with nofap and give you enough confidence to stay awesome throughout the day. It could be anything, cold showers, a gym, working out. Which brings me to the next point.
- Physical exhaustion-
Physical fatigue will help you a lot. In my case it did. After a month or so, I realized that if I was tired by the time I came home, I would only be in the mood to sleep and I would forget about fapping completely. It worked like a charm. It also gave me a hell of a physique. I loved it so much that I’ve been carrying on the busy schedule even now. Running, job, gym, calligraphy and sleep. That’s pretty much my day.
- Reward yourself-
If you make it past a week. Get yourself those headphones you’ve always wanted. If you make it past a month, ask that new girl out. Whatever, just reward yourself after every milestone so that you don’t just push your goals further when you reach a check point. Make it all worthwhile, or you put yourself in the risk of burning out.
- Push your limits further-
As I already mentioned earlier, push yourself out of your comfort zone. Nofap is like a nitroboost to your life. Try doing as much as you can within this journey. A perfect analogy if you’re playing is a Lucky Egg from Pokemon Go. Nofap is like a Lucky Egg. It isn’t powerful by itself. But couple it with 40 evolutions and you’ve got 3 levels ups within half an hour. Thank you all for this wonderful journey. All the best for your further endeavors and I hope at least some of you find my post helpful.
