Age 22 – Porn-induced ED: After 4 month of no PMO the magic happened

I am here to tell you, like the others that told me back then when my journey begun, that is all true. The problem you are having (that is by far in my opinion one of the worst problems a guy in his 20s can have) is almost certainly cause by the effects of porn in your brain. I’m here to tell you that I had the same doubts myself, that I looked everywhere for answers and couldn’t find them, until i stumbled up with a random ted talk about porn induced erectile dysfunction on april 4th 2016. That was the last day I watched pornography.

Back in that day I was dating a girl I really really liked and everything was great with her, until the moment to get undressed. It was the most difficult and challenging thing I had to face in my entire life, to deal with this problem and to try to overcome it, but without clear causes it seemed impossible. When I saw that video I knew right away I had found the answers. I was a porn consumer since age 9 (I’m 22 now), mostly in the beginning with soft-core porn and then escalating to hardcore porn without incursionating in bizarre things.

So the cure was clear. I never ever had the urge to watch porn, and if I did, I knew the consequences, but first of all, I knew what was at the end of the rainbow. I told my girl everything and she understood it perfectly. She was as supportive as someone can be and I feel very lucky for that, I can’t emphasize this enough, she was my key to fix me.

After 4 month of no PMO the magic happened, out of the blue and with no expectations we had sex; we made love.
I have some things that I’ve learned through this journey:

  • Be patient, it won’t happen from one day to the other, but it will happen for sure.
  • No PMO is the answer, the way to rewire yourself and your path to success. Build your habits, stop your cravings before they begin, be conscious of your goal.
  • Last and most important, the thing that helped me the most is understanding that there are two problems that come together, one we all know (PIED) and one generated by all the failures from it. Performance anxiety due to previous failures is a thing that can be as dangerous as PIED itself, and the best way to beat it is BEING IN THE PRESENT. Sounds pretty simple but it is not. You have to eradicate the negative thinking cycle before it occurs. You have to get out of your mind that you can’t succeed, and in the moment of the action, don’t think in anything other than the sensations you are experiencing, feel in harmony with that moment and be one with your partner. You will succeed.

I can’t say how much time I spent reading these success stories and how much they have helped me, but I know it’s a lot, and I promised to myself that if I succeeded some day I was going to write mine, in my limited English to give something in return to this community that literally changed my life
