Age 16 – I know I may sound like I’m over-exaggerating, however, NoFap has really changed me

Hey. I’m a 16-year-old high school student and I’m here to tell you what I’ve learned after about 1 year of NoFap. First of all, you may be wondering why I started this and how I learned about this “NoFap” challenge. When I was 15, I was insecure about how I looked (hair, acne, etc.) and I felt so self-conscious talking to people. I could barely maintain eye contact with anyone. I couldn’t find value in my life and remembered back to the times when I was confident, and remembered that back in those days, porn and masturbation were out of the question.

I had seen these NoFap challenges on YouTube before and I had a suspicion that there was a correlation between PMO and my poor, unmotivated lifestyle. My longest streak began in the Spring of 2019, and it has changed me. NoFap is a journey; a journey that leads you to find value in life, and most importantly yourself.

So much has changed in the past year. The most important benefit to me is the motivation to strive for success. It brought me up to a straight-A student, improved my interpersonal skills, and gave me an ambitious lifestyle where I’m constantly working towards becoming a better person.

I decided to cut out the toxic people in my life and built strong friendships with amazing people in school. I also fell in love with a girl, and although there wasn’t much time with her (international student). I can confidently say that she was the first girl I truly loved.

To be honest, at the start of 2020 when she left, I was depressed. I almost relapsed at that time but the memories with her kept me motivated. 2020 has been a hard year for me, but NoFap has really been a source of happiness and motivation this year.

Thank you if you’ve read this far. I know I may sound like I’m overexaggerating, however, NoFap has really changed me; it taught me to appreciate more everyday things in life. One year ago, I decided to take a risk, however that risk had brought me value I never knew it could.
