Age 21 – Confidence has soared, not so scared of taking risk and failing

So here we are. Day 58. Holy shit team, didn’t even think we’d make it this far.

Rewind to April of this year. Roughly after my 21st I had decided I wanted to join the army.

Fast forward to mid-November and I’m off on the bus with 60 odd miserable souls for the biggest culture shock life can possibly offer.  In 35 days, I made some unlikely friends, faced challenge, failure and success on rinse and repeat. It’s hard to describe in words, but its an alien world out in the army then even stranger coming back to civilian world.

In terms of the changes and self-growth;

  • Confidence has soared, not so scared of taking risk and failing
  • Become more assertive and demanding about what I want through life
  • More honest about my capabilities
  • Procrastination has dropped
  • Organisation is improving

For anyone wanting to grow and change, my biggest suggestion is to find something that scares you and do it. Even if you fail. Then do it again, and some more. Obviously don’t do something stupid, but if it holds value, then sure by all means chase it to your heart’s content.
Happy new year and may all you fapstronauts have successful 2019!
