Age 22 – 10 year addiction to porn; anxiety and brain fog gone

I really didn’t think I could break this 10 year addiction to MO/PMO since I used to release twice a day on average. However, with the help of everyone here, I have made it past 90 days without PMO during my final year of university.

As a gesture to thank this community, I would like to share some tips and advice to anyone who is looking to make it to 90 days without PMO. The tips are as follows:

  1. To make it past the first 7 days, make sure you create a routine for yourself. These include a combination of cold showers, meditations, workout, studying etc. In addition, AVOID edging, its an open door to a negative spiral. You WILL end up relapsing regardless of how mentally strong you are, trust me with this.

  2. To make it past the first month, persist with the routine mentioned above, and avoid social media as much as you can. The use of social media often leads to edging during the first few weeks since your brain is used to PMO. App/site blockers are your best friends in this phase as they’ll help you rewire yourself and your brain.

By now, most of you will be able to overpower your urges. If you get a wet dream during these days, keep your routine at check and avoid edging. Wet dreams often lead to a string of relapses if you end up edging.

3. The time between 30 to 90 days is an eye opener for many since you’ll realise what your real issues are (those issues that were ignored when you PMO’d your way to numbness). These could include things like obesity, lack of focus, ignorance towards loved ones. This is the best time to work on them. By now, edging will be something you’ll think of as a waste of time.

While this process won’t be exactly the same for everyone, I think the general tips given could be helpful for all of you aiming to get to 90 days (which I am sure you will reach). However, once you get to this point, you’ll realise that the journey to become the best version of yourself has just begun.

Lastly, the benefits I have observed during this process were:

  1. Decreased brain fog

  2. Increased focus

  3. Decreased anxiety about future or past

  4. Increased energy levels during social situations

Keep going everyone. Stay positive (and test negative)!
