Anyone that’s new to this sub or struggling through a streak, I’m here to confirm that NoFap works. And how incredible the benefits are. Now you should first know that NoFap is just a piece of a much larger puzzle.
Self improvement and happiness is reliant upon hard work, determination, and mental fortitude. PMO can make these qualities hard to unlock, but NoFap works to reverse that. While these benefits won’t just appear out of thin air, success will come if you want it badly enough.
Personally, I’ve struggled with depression, anxiety, and low confidence for a while now. While all of these were something that began building up throughout my youth, it really started in college where I began smoking more weed, isolating myself, hanging with the wrong crowd, and blasting ropes daily all over my mac keyboard.
Things that may give you short term pleasure, like the ones I just listed, can hurt you in the long run, and I learned that the hard way. I was sad about every decision I made. I wrestled with getting up in the morning, and even harder was resisting the urge to go to sleep every chance I got just to get away from the world. I was a hikkomori, a wandering body, a lost soul.
Then I came across this subreddit. NoFap has turned my life around folks, there’s no doubt about it. While everyone experiences things differently, I’m sure there’s a plethora of people that feel that same way I did, looking for that revive button.
On NoFap, I began to realize that there was really nothing wrong with me at all. Now I’m not saying depression is a state of mind, since it has been proven to be a chemical imbalance in the brain. But for me, something just clicked.
I thought that if I just replaced all of my bad thoughts with good thoughts then I would be in the right direction. And that is exactly what I did. I thought my happiness into existence. What has helped me with all of this has been the many activities I’ve incorporated into my daily routine. Some things that I do are:
- -meditate twice a day for 10 mins
- -work out every morning
- -eat healthy and wholesome foods and not garbage
- -lukewarm showers (I don’t really think freezing cold showers are necessary, since room temperature water gives the same skin and hair benefits, but feel free to take an arctic bath)
- -get off of the computer and experience the real world
Nowadays I’m back to doing things that I love. I’m playing more music, balling in an intramural league, talking to more people in general, and overall just being more adventurous. I’ve curbed PMO, weed, and laziness, but playing Xbox and using nicotine are still works in progress.
I can say without a doubt that I am a much happier guy than before I started NoFap. I feel calm and collected all the time, like I can handle any situation without problems. No, I don’t feel like Superman, the Rock, or Baker Mayfield. I don’t need to feel like some badass I see on TV. I feel like me, and that’s better than anything else I could ask for.
