Abstract

PURPOSE:

In this study was aimed to examine the relationship between smartphone addiction (SA) and meaning and purpose of life (MPL) of university students.

DESIGN AND METHODS:

A cross-sectional study consisted of 677 students studying in students of Health Sciences. The data were collected by a questionnaire included the smartphone addiction scale-short form and the meaning and purpose in life scale.

FINDINGS:

A significant and negative correlation was found between SA and the MPL levels.

PRACTICE IMPLACITIONS:

Individual coping programs with SA should be handle within the scope of school health nursing. Also these programs should include activities to help students find meaning and purpose in their lives.
